The City of West Tawakoni, PWS ID TX1160012 has violated the monitoring and reporting requirements set by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Title 30, Texas Administrative Code (30 TAC), Section 290, Subchapter F. Public water systems that treat surface water and/or ground water under the direct influence of surface water are required to submit monthly operating reports with operational data of the treatment , disinfection and quality of the water provided to their customers.

  • These violation(s) occurred in the monitoring period(s): SWMOR (36/38) during March 2015 and February 2017.  Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water is safe.  We did not complete all monitoring and/or reporting for surface water constituents, and therefore TCEQ cannot be sure of the safety of your drinking water during that time.
  • What is being done? We are taking the following actions to address this issue: We have provided our SWMOR to TCEQ in a timely manner and we returned to compliance as of 04/10/2017.

The City of West Tawakoni PWS ID 1160012 has violated the monitoring and reporting requirements set by TCEQ in chapter 30, section 290, subchapter F.  Public water systems in exceedance of an operational evaluation level are required to conduct an evaluation of their source water, treatment and distribution operations and submit a report of their findings to TCEQ. 

  • We failed to conduct an operational evaluation and or submit a report to TCEQ.  This violation occurred in the monitoring period: HAA5/TTHM for 2Q 2022
  • We are taking the following action to address this issue:  Moving forward we will ensure all notice of violations are posted and customers will be notified in a timely manner.

City of West Tawakoni PWS ID 1160012 has violated the monitoring an reporting requirements set by TCEQ in chapter 30, section 290, subchapter F. Even though these were not emergencies, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct these situations. 

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis.  Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During (52) 3YR2023, we did not monitor or test for LCR and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of your drinking water during that time.

The table below lists the contaminant we did not properly test for during the last year, how often we are supposed to sample for the contaminant, how many samples we are supposed to take, how many samples we took, when samples should have been taken, and the date on which the follow-up samples were taken or will be taken.

Next set of samples will be Jan – May 2024  What is being done?  We are sending samples from Jan through May of 2024. We are now back on schedule to have these samples pulled to make up for 2023.
